23 weeks

Expanded quite a bit over the last few weeks. Still feeling great and really enjoy feeling those squirms and banging around in there. Saw the doctor yesterday and everything is still going well. After some really bad legs cramps and a trip to Radiology a couple of week ago, things are much better. No sign of blockages or blood clots, just get to enjoy the dreadful & intense leg cramps in the middle of the night. Daddy is getting really good about being woken up by screams and immediately sitting up to rub out the cramp!

We went to The Palm last night for my company's Christmas Party. We had a great time and as you can see from my belly, someone really enjoyed the food!

Happy Thanksgiving

We went home to spend some time in Roanoke for the Thanksgiving holiday. We had a good time seeing family and eating lots of good food! The baby enjoyed it's first thanksgiving meal, as well as the first Roanoke Weiner Stand Hotdog! Of course, mommy wasn't complaining either :)

18 weeks

Growing quite a bit....I saw Dr. Ward today and the baby and I are moving right along with our weight gain. We are both right where we should be and that heartbeat was just as strong and loud as ever :) I have even felt a little flutter here and there, nothing too strong yet, but I'm sure it's right around the corner!

Pictures

Here are some pictures from our photo shoot! The baby is much bigger since the last ultrasound, so you aren't able to see as much on the screen at once. There are a lot with hands in it and one straight forward face shot. The baby was turned towards my back for the most part, but cooperated a little for us to get some good ones. Enjoy!

One more note...

For those of you who can't stand it (Mimi), we did find out the sex of the baby yesterday. We have decided not to share for now, while we are soaking up every minute of the exciting news ourselves. We are both thrilled to just have a healthy little one, but were amazed at how "real" it made it feel after we found out what bundle of joy we will be getting in April. We are enjoying some serious Mommy, Daddy, Baby bonding time right now and when the time is right we may decide to share our excitement. But for now, just know how happy we are to be finally getting our dream of a healthy baby and know how much we appreciate and still need your support for the second half of the pregnancy!

Healthy happy baby

Well, we are happy to report we had a very good visit yesterday with the specialists. The baby looks great, with the heart rate at 155 and weighing in at 7 oz. We got to see a wonderful head to toe overview while they did a thorough exam of all the major organs. The brain and heart look completely normal and all the bones in the arms and legs are measuring right on track. We got several waves from those cute little hands and a big yawn like we were disturbing someone's precious nap time, but we were definitely glad to see a healthy happy baby. We will try and get some pictures posted soon!

Week 16 Update

Just wanted to check in for the week and let everyone know that we are doing good. The morning sickness has been completely gone for a few weeks now and my energy level is coming back up. I've been able to get back in the gym regularly, which helps a lot. I had a check up on Tuesday and it went well. The baby's heartbeat was really loud and fast, it's a very precious sound! I still haven't felt any movement, but I expect it anytime in the near future. As active as we've seen this baby be, I probably need to just be patient with the kicking and punching that is coming my way! Stay tuned for an update after next week's appointment.....

Ultrasound Photos

Ok, we finally got some of these scanned and on the computer. The one in the top right corner was from our first appt confirming the pregnancy at 7 weeks.
The two on the left (top and bottom) are from the second appt with the specialists at 11 weeks (check out those cute feet in the air).
And finally the two on the right (middle and bottom) are from our appt last week at 14 weeks.
Definitely a cute little pumpkin in there with lots of personality from all the movement we've seen. Enjoy!

Weighing in at 4 oz!

We went back to the Doctor yesterday and had another peek at the baby. Again, very active and things look great. It showed us some twists and turns and a great shot of the neck and spine. Heartrate was strong at 155 bpm and it weighed in at a whopping 4 oz! We go back to the specialists at 17 weeks to get a better look at the heart and other organs. And yes, that means "is it a boy or a girl??!!"

Our little Mover & Shaker

We went to see the speicalists today so they could have a look at our little one and make sure things looked ok. They look great! The baby was VERY active and moved all around so we could see it. Moved it's arms and legs constantly and even gave us a yawn. We also got a great shot in one of the pictures that looks like someone is already practicing their soccer moves :)

It's Positive

On Friday, August 17th we took a pregnancy test that came back positive! Excited and overwhelmed, we made a Doctor's appointment to confirm the results. After an ultrasound, we definitely saw that there was a baby in there and we were 7 weeks and 1 day pregnant. Our due date is April 15th...we're counting down to spring!
