All moved out
All the boxes and furniture have been loaded & taken to storage and the house is empty. We are all moved into the apartment and trying to get settled to call it "home." Claire is adjusting very well and seems to know that things are different, but is still smiling and laughing! Gabby is a little more nervous and trying to figure out exactly what is going on. It's been a long few days, but we are looking forward to the weekend and can't wait to see Chris tonight!

Lots of boxes, packing crew & large truck
At 8:30 this morning that all showed up at our front door ready to take on the day. Three guys are packing our house up now getting it all ready for the moving truck and new crew to load it all up tomorrow. They are busy working and packing while Claire and I are trying to stay out of their way. Gabby keeps pacing and following them around watching and Claire keeps trying to share her toys with them and saying "hey" every 2 seconds like they just walked in!
I got the lease signed at the apartment yesterday and got several loads unpacked over there while a friend kept Claire all afternoon. It was very hot and lots of work, but it's all ready for us to officially "move in" tomorrow. It will be an adjustment for us all, but it's temporary and will keep us in CLT for 7 more weeks. We are really excited about that and have several fun play dates and "adult" dates already on the calendar.
So this weekend we will finish carrying out the last of our stuff and say goodbye to what has been our home for the last 5 1/2 years. Lots of good times, hard times and wonderful memories! But what is left are only 4 walls and a roof; all the special and important things are coming with us.
We are excited to head to Knoxville next weekend to celebrate the 4th as well as look for a new house. We are hoping to get lucky and find the area, neighborhood and home that will fit us perfectly. We are going with an open mind and a positive outlook that God will direct us to where that is. Keep us in your thoughts and send us up some luck!

15 Months Old
15 months going on 15 years!
Claire is growing, changing and gets more amazing everyday!
I'm just going to "update" some of my favorite Claire categories real quick.
Fav things: books, bubbles, The Backyardigans, the pool, her "nack" (snack), brushing her teeth, playing peek-a-boo
Fav books: small board books that have balls, animals, the moon, or boats in them
Fav shows: still loves Dora, but has a new fascination with The Backyardigans (their song captures her and she comes running to dance when she hears them coming on)
Fav toys: anything with small parts she can carry around and put in things (I'm constantly finding pieces tucked away in very random places), including her toothbrush
Fav songs: Row, row, row your boat; Twinkle twinkle little star; Itsy bitsy spider (she knows words and hand motions to all 3)
Fav words: hi, bye, mama, dada, gabby, eat, more, juicy, pool, bubbles, swing, book, uh-oh, moon, "nack" (new words: turtle, work, bird, airplane, bear, goat, baby pool)
Fav talents: can name and make sound of dog, cat, duck, bear, frog, pig, sheep, bunny, bird (and probably more, those are just her favorites); loves to say and do her hands like a butterfly; can count one, two, three; shakes her head yes and no while saying the word and normally uses it correctly; when asked "do you know how much I love you?" she will stretch her arms out wide and smile while you say "so much!" (thanks papa for teaching me that cute trick); she loves to give butterfly kisses, Eskimo kisses, and good mouth open real kisses; loves to jump, dance, clap and shout whoo hoo!
She really is a barrel of laughs and keeps things light, funny and in perspective everyday! She has the cutest personality and is definitely independent and thinks she can take on the world. She is smart as a tack (I know, I know, I'm going to be one of those parents). She is constantly watching, listening and processing EVERYTHING you do and say! And then by the next day she is doing it, saying it and knows it.
She is still our little peanut, tiny but getting taller. She has the cutest "tan" from the beach and pool and her hair has lightened up so much from the sun. She loves wearing dresses and having bows in her hair, but still likes the playground, the backyard and being outside. She is really a fish in the water and enjoys kicking, splashing and jumping in.
She has the best loving, nurturing sense about her. She loves on her babies & animals and enjoys giving out love to anyone who will take it. She never goes anywhere without meeting new friends. She is always saying hi to anyone walking by and then waves bye bye as they go.
Ok, well that's a good recap of our daily adventures. Just a small peek into the joy she brings everyday. It is truly amazing to watch her learn, say and do new things constantly.

Sending out an SOS
Well, now we're 2 weeks to go until our closing date and things are beyond crazy around here. We had a nice, but hectic weekend with Chris and stayed so busy that Sunday afternoon came around way too quickly!
We finalized our apartment, got some pool time in, Claire decided not to nap all day (or really eat much for that matter). So since we were having such a great day (sarcasm) we went out to dinner. The meal was ok, the ice cream was much better, but then she tripped on a marble floor and busted her upper lip....thank goodness no ER trip was necessary (although if he had been alone with her, I'm sure daddy would have insisted). After cleaning up the blood, checking to make sure all of her teeth were still there, a warm bath and some cuddles, she finally drifted off to sleep and we were all thankful that day was over.
None of us wanted to say goodbye on Sunday, so that made for a tough evening all around. Chris had a lonely, long 6 hour drive with traffic and Claire and I were sad, tired and wishing daddy was still here.
After bedtime is when I get to go full force around the house and attempt to tackle one of my million to do lists. I've completed several things that I really wanted to get done, but seem to keep finding things as I go. It's hard to tell what we'll end up with at the apartment, but hopefully it will all come together.
We have wonderful friends who have really stepped up to help; offering babysitting, meals, hands to pack, trucks to carry our stuff to the apartment and more. Over these next 2 weeks we will get more help than we can ever repay and are so thankful to each of these special friends in our lives. It will be those friendships that we will hate to leave, but know they will always hold a special place in our hearts!
I am finally getting a break on Thursday for a much needed mommy night out. A group of about 15 of us are renting a hummer limo and heading out for a fun filled night on the town, including a Sugarland and Keith Urban concert. I am so excited and can't wait for the stress free, adult time, and am so thankful that Claire will be safe and happy with her Aunt Darci.
I have some pictures from the last few days that I promise to get up when I get some free time. Lots of pool pictures and some very funny & messy ice cream ones.

Spoon feeding
Loves to feed herself with the spoon however, that means it will be used as a hair brush....most of the time BEFORE the food goes in her mouth. I believe this was applesauce, but we have had an array of yummy food in our hair lately including jello and pudding.
