Road Trip

We had a great time in Knoxville over the weekend. It was a good trip, nice & relaxing and Claire got some fun play time with Uncle Tyler and Aunt Emily (and Buddy & Cassie).

We enjoyed brunch on Sunday at Bruce and Marsha's where Claire was the star of the show. She wore herself out and as you can see fell asleep face down on Marsha's arm before we left.

8 months old

So here we are another month older and oh so many new tricks.

To start we can crawl backwards very well (we get stuck under the TV cabinet several times a day) and have no idea where the drive mode is to get out! We blow kisses that will melt your heart, laugh and happily scream all the time, eat like a champ, and on Friday I found her sitting up in her crib. I have no idea how she did that, I laid her back down and stood at the door to see if she would show me, but nope never did.

We didn't have to go to the doctor this month (thank goodness that means all is healthy and no shots), but as far as a weight guess, we're betting into the 15-16 pound range (at least that's whats my back says).

We are still a little social butterfly with story hour on Mondays, a play date or two every week, walks with baby Brooke around the neighborhood on pretty days, and of course the church nursery ladies get to see me several times a week and it's a fight to the death of who had more time with me.

Daddy is off all this week so we are enjoying some family time and can't wait to celebrate my first Thanksgiving on Thursday!

Here are some pictures of my "I think I can" crawling stance.

Happy Birthday Daddy

We celebrated Daddy's birthday all day long. We went uptown and met him for lunch and then gave him his cards when he got home from work. Claire had fun ripping the envelope to help and then of course tasting it! Aunt Darci came to babysit so we could enjoy dinner out, which was wonderful! Another great year and here's to the next! Happy 31st, we love you!

Back in the swing of things

Well, things seem back to normal with everyone healthy and well again. We had story hour, several lunch dates, a play date or two and enjoyed a few long walks with the beautiful fall weather this week.

Claire is enjoying playing more and more everyday. She loves to sit and play with her toys and books and scoots backwards (we haven't found "drive" yet) to get to where she wants to go. She started blowing kisses with her mouth, very cute and she works really hard to make it a good one. She is a dancing queen (although it's more of a rocking motion) anytime she hears music, whether it's coming from a toy, the TV or radio. It's adorable!

We are looking forward to a visit from Gammie and Poppa this weekend and are heading to Knoxville next week for a visit with Uncle Tyler and Aunt Emily. Then Daddy is on vacation for the week of Thanksgiving and we are really excited about some fun family time.

We are getting our pictures back this week from our fall family photo shoot, so we'll be sure to share them soon!

Getting through the week

After yet another week of not feeling good, I think we are FINALLY on the mend, as long as we can keep Daddy healthy. Here are some pictures from this week....not much excitement, lots of napping and laying around. Grandma came down Tuesday to take care of Claire while mommy was sick, lots of thanks for her help! And thank goodness for a new toy that entertained her all day Wednesday!
