Caroline

Not really sure how to even start this but seriously, how is my baby 18 months old?! I'm sure we just had her first birthday party and now I'm already thinking about her second one!

She has found her sea legs and she is OFF and MOVING! On Friday December 16th she decided to show us what she could do (what she had been hiding from us!) and before bath time-stood up walking up and down the hall like it was nothing and then looked at us like, what?! It was quite cute and the last time she has hesitated to look back!

She is now running, chasing and following Claire everywhere and there is nothing she thinks she cant do (or go or eat or try!). She is the cutest thing and still the life of the party. Her sweet little voice just makes you smile and the way she says her words are precious! It was all no-oo-oo and now its yeahhh- what the heck happened to yes!!! But its cute none the less and its her little personality!

She and I got a chance to spend the weekend together just the two of us and it was awesome! She was sick so it was pitiful, but it was good cuddle, love, snuggle and play time together. She missed her sissy something terrible and asked & hunted for her for two whole days! But that sweet reunion on Sunday afternoon is something I will never forget. Those precious babies hugged and loved on each other and didn't leave each other sides until bedtime!

She is still our dancing queen-loves her music! Her other favorite thing is coloring-but only with Claire! She loves giving hugs, high fives, blowing kisses and has THE MOST precious wave ever! Her heart is big and she shares that love with everyone!

What a cutie pie and love of my life!

Promises kept?

OK so I said I wanted to make every attempt at 'playing more nicely' in my everyday life and that is my number one resolution for this year and my life. But I have a few more that I am working and working hard at trying to accomplish as well.

I want to be more thankful....I have realized over the past ten years or so that life is so precious and there is more heartache, hurt and pain than anyone realizes in this world-my life isn't perfect but honestly it is damn near close if you look at what really matters. So I want to show love and thankfulness to what truly matters in my little world.

My precious, healthy children, my devoted and loving husband who works to provide everything we have, my family, my friends, my home- its not clean, straight or perfect, but its solid, warm and where our love is. My car to get us places-not my cute sports car-but my mom vehicle-my mini van that gets us safely where we need to go. Our clothes, food, and ability to pay our bills and even the extras-including my new highly addictive iphone! Some things are necessities and some are not-but thankful for them all!

My other big one is more BLOGGING...not just throwing pictures up but trying to use this blog for what its really supposed to be-an online diary/journal/notebook of my life. So give me some patience as I attempt this new venture of 'putting it all out there!' I promise to keep the pictures coming and I will do my best at keeping it lively, funny and hopefully leave you wanting more!

Happy 2012!

Another year, another laundry list of New Years Resolutions....

Well after trying to explain to Claire what exactly a "new years resolution" was, she quickly came to the conclusion that hers was to 'love my sister Caroline more.' I mean melt your heart, right?

But then what promptly followed was the complete opposite-ten straight minutes of pulling toys out of her hands, seeing if she gently nudged her while she was running down the hall if she would fall over or not, making sure she hid anything of value on the top shelf so little hands couldn't reach it and decided that she was going to dominate the TV.

I tried using my new years resolution to explain what in the world was going on between these sweet sisters and I quickly realized that God wasn't trying to test Claire but he wanted to see if I was serious about what I had promised in the new year....more patience, less yelling, more gentle teaching, more smiles and a little less teeth gritting!

Goodness I sound nice, huh?! Or just a stay at home mother of a 3 1/2 yr old and 1 1/2 yr old!

So there I went....into the hostile and somewhat jealous world of a 3 year old. I put on my smile, nice calm voice and said, "Claire what happened? I thought you wanted to show Caroline more love this year?" And in typical nonchalant Claire fashion, "Well mom, I'm just getting it all out at once so I can be sweet!"

And here we are-our home of never ending laughs, craziness and most important love!

Happy New Year-may you find yourself trusting and truthful to your little 'promises' of 2012!
