Quote of the day
I've decided to try and write down the hilarious things that can come from a 2 year old's mouth, so here are a few words that should bring a laugh to your day!
"Mommy, Daddy, I'm in here!"
"Mommy, come here, where are you?"
"Hey, that's my tush!"
"Love on me."
"My baby is sleeping in my belly."
"You're naked!"
"Close your eyes; ok, wake up!"
"I haven't poopied yet"
"Come home soon, miss you!"
"Hey Chris, Hey babe!" (while calling for her daddy from upstairs)
"Mommy, still rock me?" (when asked about her new room)
"Gabby lay down, your driving me bonkies!"
"I like Poppa" (when asked who her favorite is and what we should name the baby)
"I like her" (her new friend at church)
"Mommy comes back?" (when being left in the nursery)
"I love you too"
"Whatcha doin?"
Well that's a good start from the things I can remember over the last few days....I'm sure I'll have a few more by next week!

"I did it!"
OK, most parents are really excited when they hear those words for the first time...however, I heard them today after nap time. As I was finishing up on the phone, I heard this voice, say "Mommy, come up here!" I quickly realized it wasn't through the monitor that I heard her, but from the top of the stairs. As I walked into the foyer, I saw her smiling and she said, "I did it, I got out!"
fter the shock wore off, I didn't know what I was more astounded by, the fact that she did indeed get out of her crib or that she hadn't broken her neck! So I made her call her Daddy to tell him what she had done and again after his shock wore off, he said well we'll be doing her big girl room for sure this weekend!
So we decided to delight in her happiness of accomplishment, but also reminded her that it was dangerous and she could have gotten hurt! Here's praying we can make it to Sat without any more crib hopping!

Catching up
Wow this week was busy! We got home on Monday from Roanoke and from Tuesday to Friday we didn't stop. We had 2 different friends have us over for dinner since Chris was gone, we had music class, art class, went to the toy store to buy birthday gifts, had a party at Little Gym, dinner out with some friends Friday night and then when we pulled into the driveway, we had a wonderful treat...Daddy was home!!
Claire practically clawed her way out of her seat and the car to get to him! It was great to have him home and we had a terrific weekend just the 3 of us- including some much needed sun and time outside!
We are happy to be "normal" again going into this week and look forward to what the next couple of weeks hold! We have preschool registration this week for the fall and another doctors appt next week to check on little miss bug. Plus, 2 year old pictures, finalizing the zoo party, anxious to see grandparents and family, and are REALLY looking forward to our trip to Disney in 2 weeks! Lots to do, but so much fun in store!

Alone again
Chris has been back on the road to Quantico this past week and has one more left to go. He had a 2 week training to attend, so life has been a bit out of sorts for us. He left last Sunday and we have had a crazy week without him. Of course he had to miss our ultrasound appt, which was hard on both of us, but we got some great recording of it to show him when he gets home!
Then Claire and I took off to Roanoke on Thursday for a long weekend. I had a reunion already planned, so instead of Claire having a weekend with Daddy, she came along to stay with Grandma and Poppa. (I think she had more fun than I did, ha!) They played, built forts, went to the pet store, library, fed the ducks, made cupcakes and celebrated Auntie J's birthday.
I did have a little fun myself....several meals out without anyone sitting in my lap or sharing my plate, a morning at the spa with mani/pedi's and massages, a little time for shopping and some wonderful girl time with old friends!
Now back home for another busy week and looking forward to daddy's return & maybe even some sunshine over the weekend....
