Playing Catch up

Whew, last week was quite a bit busy and so this may be a large post, but I'll try to play catch up! We had lots going on last week during the day and then I had something almost every evening. So Daddy did dinner, bath and bed time, which was nice for the 2 of them. We had several church things going on, a baby shower for a friend, a ladies night out with our play group, a doctor visit for baby, a doctor visit for Claire's 2 year old well visit, music class, art class, dinner with friends and then we worked on the nursery all weekend.

First things first, all went well with the baby check up. It was an easy visit, just the normal of BP, weight, and heartbeat. I go back in a week for my glucose test and another ultrasound, so we're anxious to see that sweet baby girl again! We can't believe we are sailing into the third trimester already and are slowly but surely getting things ready for her arrival! The bump is getting larger and she moves nonstop! I'm not so sure she isn't more of a squirmer than Claire was, if you can believe that!

Claire did great at her check up. I can't believe it was time for her 2 year old well visit but she was so brave and such a big girl! On the way there, she told me "but mommy nothing hurts and I don't not feel good, so no doctor!" She is quite the comic relief these days! I told her that this was to check her over since she was a big girl now and that he needed to make sure she was ready to be a big sister! She said ok, "tell him to check my heart beat like baby sisters!"

So anyway, she was 34 1/2 inches tall and still only 23 lbs 8 oz, our little long and lean girl! She passed her developmental screening test with flying colors and they said she was the best talking 2 year old they had seen in a long time! She of course had to tell all about her trip to Disney and her baby sister. She sat completely still for her exam and loved when it was time to show her teeth and say "aaahhh!" She is definitely getting her 2 year old molars and inherited our horrible allergies, but other than that she is a healthy happy girl! I had forgotten she had to get a second dose of a shot she got at one year, so I told her no shots and then had to back peddle but she was so cute and sat perfectly still then of course showed everyone her band aide to cover her shot.

Chris worked really hard all weekend on the nursery and it looks really good! We are putting up white bead board and chair rail like we did in Claire's nursery and it is coming along so cute! I will post pics as things progress and hopefully we'll have a full name before long! We are set on a first name but are working hard on the middle!

We have another full week ahead and then Chris and I are getting away for the weekend! We are going to Charlotte for a reunion at Queens, getting massages (which I CAN NOT wait for), and just going to enjoy the weekend by ourselves & with friends!

We missed the annual Kindermourn Duck Race by one weekend, but know that we had ducks out there racing and that our friends were there to cheer them on! Can't believe how much our lives have changed in 3 years, but what a journey that I can honestly say I wouldn't change one second of!

As I sign off, here are a few Claire moments to make you smile today & I promise to get some pictures posted soon!
