First trip to the salon
Getting my first hair cut (more like a trim, but the sucker was much more fun!)
Of course I loved all the attention!

Having fun with daddy
Daddy got to go to music class with Claire on Wednesday morning and then they had a fun afternoon playing around. We decorated for Thanksgiving, she's pretty good at doing the window clings and her favorite is definitely the turkey. She'll run up to it, pat it and say "turkey, gobble, gobble!" Then we made turkeys from our hand prints and decorated them.
Don't pay attention to the crazy outfit she's wearing...she pulled off her jeans and brought me these purple pants to wear with her pink shirt!

Round 2
I took Claire back to the pediatrician this morning and her lungs and ears were clear, thank goodness. She does still has a nasty cough, cold and lots of drainage draining everywhere (eyes, nose, mouth and ears). She put her on another round of antibiotics, this time a little stronger one. It's been a cool rainy day here, so we stayed in and made it a lazy day. Hopefully with some down time, good sleep and new medicine we can get rid of this nasty stuff! She is my trooper though and is so brave (even if it's with a bribe here and there), ha! Chris has the day off tomorrow, so hopefully some surprise daddy time in the middle of the week will help more than anything!

Great Weekend
I just have to post a positive follow up from my down and out one from a couple of weeks ago! Things were so gloomy around here for a while, that last week and weekend were great! I got a girls night out last week, wonderful weather to enjoy some much needed outdoor time, date night on Friday night and then some alone time at the salon on Sat morning. No complaints here!
I do have to give some credit where credit is definitely deserved...Chris has been very patient and supportive over the last few weeks as things were in a fast downhill spiral! With Claire being sick, not being able to get out of the house, and the weather being cold and rainy, I was NOT very pleasant to be around. But he is aways willing to step up and jump in so I can get some alone time, an hour out , or just to sit and phone a friend. He helps when she's up in the night, does bedtime and bath every night and is my errand runner when I just can't get it all done.
I know life isn't all smiles and happy times, but even when things are rough, I know I have the support and love I need to get through the moment, day or even week! We had a terrific weekend and even though Claire's cough has returned, I'm still hoping we're on the way to the end of this 2 week ordeal!

Buddies
I kept Caitlin and Carson last week for a bit and it was so fun to watch them all play from a distance. All 3 were busy doing their own thing, but they were talking, singing and having so much fun. We're so lucky to have such great friends and neighbors!
The adults got their turn for a "play date" on Friday night. Uncle Tyler came and babysat (just Claire, not all 3!!) and the 4 of us got to enjoy dinner, movie and night out!

Go Claire, Go Claire
So the music class was a hit! She had a great time and loves her new music CD and bag of instruments. She is obsessed with the movie Madagascar, she will come running with the DVD box in her hand and say, "moovie, mama, play it!" Then as soon as it's playing she starts yelling, "dance, dance!" We watch it on average about 3-4 times a day, so we go around saying the lines and singing the songs constantly.
Go Claire, Go Claire! She LOVES for you to say this while she's getting her groove on, ha! It's precious!

Sunshine and fresh air
Ahhh, the things we take for granted!
The last 3 days have been beautiful here and even though we're still trying to get Claire back to 100%, we've been able to soak up some much needed sunshine and fresh fall air!
The time change has thrown us all for a loop this year and none of us feel quite normal! We're up at the first crack of sunlight and then are ready for bed by dinner time! But we have had 2 very productive days and Claire seems to be getting better bit by bit. Her nasty cough and runny nose are still hanging around, but she is acting more and more like herself again.
We've been able to enjoy some walks, swinging, working outside and some fun time at the park today. We took a picnic lunch and just enjoyed sitting in the grass, playing in the leaves, running around and laughing. Of course, we finished our perfect afternoon with an ice cream cone and that is probably why I can still here her upstairs talking when she's supposed to be asleep! If all else fails, blame it on the chocolate ice cream!
We're trying a music class tomorrow and I'm hoping that she has a blast with it. They offered a mini November class, once a week, so we're going to give it a whirl. She gets her own music CD and instrument set, so I'm sure this will produce some lovely evening time concerts for daddy!
Well, just wanted to sit and blog a minute and thank God for bringing us out of that horrible dark and dingy week we had last week! I think he must have really heard my prayers for some much needed sun and smiles!
